Winter

Winter is the season of slowing down. A time for cosy layers and creating comfort both indoors and outdoors.

Tucked away in Clevedon, Wahapū Cabin provided the perfect backdrop for our “home for winter.” It’s warm timber interior and exterior, soft natural light, and peaceful surroundings gave us a relaxed and restorative retreat vibe – A place you go to snuggle up, unwind and relax.

Different textures and colours were key to achieving the cosy and relaxing winter retreat vibe. Our colour palette was inspired by the earthy natural tones of the location and landscape. We were also, inspired by the popular tones of the upcoming season. Earthy greens, rich browns, and soft neutrals were layered with a variety of textures like chunky waffle, luxurious faux fur, airy linen and plush sherpa.

We carried this concept over with our clothing, so that the styling was cohesive from person to home. We mixed soft and rough textures, like flowy loungewear with knit cardigans, towel dry robes with sherpa slippers and soft socks with rubber gumboots. The mixture of textures created a yin and yang harmonious balance between comfortable and practical.

A standout feature of the Cabin was the outdoor bath. Because the Bath was made with a black stone it had a moody, luxurious feel. The deep dark tones contrasted beautifully against the rich and earthy surroundings. It’s the perfect place for slow evenings and switching off from the world. A little romantic and a whole lot of relaxation.
