Disposable Guide

Kia ora shoppers,
Here at BB&B we are working hard to reducing our waste footprint, by improving our packaging. We endeavour to make our packaging as sustainable as possible, by ensuring that we reduce our packaging and use recyclable materials. This guide provides instructions on how to recycle or re-use our packaging to help customers make more sustainable choices.

Textile packaging

We are moving to textile packaging for our bedding. This is because this material is sturdy, protective and sometimes made from offcuts, making it aesthetically pleasing and sustainable.

Washing textiles

Materials like polycotton and polyester shed microplastics when washed. Therefore, we recommend that you only wash your items, when necessary, with cold water and dry flat. Make sure you wash these items in a laundry bag and use a filter.

Furniture

At BBB we make sure all our furniture is high quality and built to last for decades. However, if you are in the mood to update your furniture make sure you donate your items to ensure that they will be kept out our landfills.

Cardboard and paper

Can be recycled at home in your kerbside recycling bin. We recycle our paper, cardboard and pallet wrap directly with OJI solutions to ensure that these materials are being re-used in a circular manner.

Soft plastics (Plastic 4)

(This is any clean plastic packaging that can be crunched up into a ball). We send our soft plastics to our friends at Futurepost and you can do the same by dropping off your soft plastics at participating locations across the country.

Polystyrene (Plastics 6)

We've partnered with Expol who help collect and convert our polystyrene into green beans, a sustainable alternative to regular polystyrene beans. Drop of your polystyrene at any participating collection site like your local hardware store.
